Taxes
On February 29th, 2008, summer & winter bills will receive a 3% penalty until February 28, 2008 and will become delinquent on March 1, 2008. You must mail all payments to the Kent County Treasurer after March 1, 2008.

Winter bills will be mailed in the first week of December, 2007. Payment is due on or before February 14, 2008 by 5:00 pm in the Township Office.

Methods of Payment
You can mail a check for payment. If you would like a receipt, include both parts of your tax bill with a self addressed, stamped envelope. Otherwise, just include the lower part of your bill with your check and your cancelled check is your receipt. You can come into the Township Hall during business hours (on the front of this tax form in the upper right hand corner) and pay by cash or check. Outside of business hours, you can drop your payment, prepared as if for mailing, through the slot in the door to the right of the main entrance of the Township Hall. Your payment will be receipted on the next business day.

Dog Licenses
You may purchase your dog license from December thru February. Applications will be mailed to those already licensed. Please bring in proof of rabies vaccination and of altered sex, if applicable.

Plat Books
Kent County Plat Books are available for $30.00 in the Spencer Township office. All proceeds will go to Kent County 4-H.

Principal Residence Exemption
The Principal Residence Exemption form is obtainable from the Township Assessor and must by filed by May 1 for the exemption to be in effect for this tax year. You only need to file this form once, typically when you first buy your home. School tax other is levied on ALL property.

If this tax bill should be sent to a different taxpayer/owner address, please contact the Township Assessor. The Township Treasurer is not responsible for payments made on wrong parcel.
